Notable changes are:
- Fix building for armv7 with SEH enabled
- Implement _set_com_error_handler and _com_raise_error in comdef.h
- Add import libraries for older msvcrXX.dll versions
- Redirect access() to __mingw_access() on UCRT
- Assorted updates to Windows APIs
The install(1) tool on macOS doesn't support the -D option for
creating directories at the same time while installing files.
Therefore, run a separate step for creating directories. Doing that
with "mkdir -p", even if install(1) also could do that with the -d
option (likewise with a separate command).
Also stop specifying the destination file name, when it's equal to
the source files, now that we know that the destination directory
already exists.
Install copyright notices into the final package. This makes LLVM MinGW
comply with many of the licenses (which require attribution), and also
makes it easier for users of LLVM MinGW to audit licenses of software
they use.
This fixes the v*scanf functions when using msvcrt.dll, if using more
than 30 format conversions, fixes error handling in the btowc
function in libmingwex, and adds a missing (void) in a function
prototype in winpthreads, adds the fwpuclnt import library for aarch64,
plus other assorted header/interface updates.
This simplifies build-mingw-w64.sh. When building on native
windows (where we also provide unprefixed tools, we can't have
the yet incomplete compiler toolchain in $PATH when building
the mingw-w64 tools. (Logically, build-mingw-w64-tools belong
with build-llvm and install-wrappers; using the original system
compiler to build tools that are supposed to run on the current
machine, as opposed to the cross target, like when building the
runtimes.)
- Fixed the dinput/dinput8 libraries for armv7/aarch64
- Provide libcfgmgr32.a for aarch64
- Fix cases of duplicate definitions of snprintf/vsnprintf when using
msvcrt as crt, when building C++ code
- Fix cases where mftransform.h would undefine EXTERN_C, turning other
variables declared as EXTERN_C into actual definitions
Use "gmake" instead of "make" when gmake is available.
The makefile used for libssp is a handwritten one that requires
GNU make features. mingw-w64 uses automake, which in principle should
work with BSD make, but mingw-w64-headers hangs indefinitely if built
with BSD make.
These days, we have a working strip tool, so we can do a slightly
more straightforward procedure here.
In build-make.sh we still build with -Wl,-s, as we call a less
obvious install target there, in order to only install mingw32-make.sh,
not some header files and documentation.
This contains new declarations that the latest version of llvm
requires, when building llvm for windows on aarch64.
Notable changes are:
- Fixed compatibility fallbacks for running libc++ on Windows 7
- Improved handling of multibyte functions with UCRT
- Fixed installing mingw-w64-crt and widl in paths that contain spaces
- Fixed sscanf with double output on arm/aarch64
- Improved math functions, in particular for arm/aarch64
This makes it easier to change the default win32 target when using
build-all.sh, and also makes it possible to change the version of
mingw-w64 that is used, which wasn't possible at all before.
build-mingw-w64.sh already provides --with-default-msvcrt option, but
this makes it more convenient to use build-all.sh with non-default
msvcrt config.
On windows, we rename clang.exe to clang-$MAJOR.exe, and later
install clang.exe as a wrapper for the default architecture. But
if only building certain architectures, and the host architecture
isn't one of them, we shouldn't install any unprefixed clang.exe at
all.
For build-mingw-w64.sh to succeed when installing to such a path,
the mingw-w64 version has to be updated to the latest git master.
build-mingw-w64-libraries.sh still fails in this case, as libtool
fails to properly quote $LD in a test for whether the linker is GNU ld.
This version contains fixes for wchar printf functions in how they
handle %s/%S formats.
This isn't the absolute latest version, as there's other commits further
ahead adding support for _FORTIFY_SOURCE (which has little to no effect
with Clang as it doesn't evaluate __builtin_object_size in inlined
contexts), and the commits for _FORTIFY_SOURCE caused a few regressions,
and things might still be a bit in flux (even though the current master
seems to work fine).
In this environment, symlinks don't exist but are made as copies.
In such cases, the -n option to ln doesn't work for making this
a no-op.
Alternatively, we could append "|| true", which would print an
error but continue.
When building on windows, the toolchain bin directory contains
prefixless wrappers named "gcc.exe" and "clang.exe", even though
the toolchain isn't functional yet at this stage. Restore the
original path before building widl.
A more complete solution might be to build widl first, before
adding the newly built toolchain to the path.
This version fixes deadlocks in winpthreads condvars (in certain
use patterns), uses the _UCRT define to request and signal the
use of UCRT, fixes the UCRT _vsnwprintf function, uses the
CRT's setjmp/longjmp on AArch64 if SEH is in use, and makes the
UCRT set the app type to console properly for such apps.
